Voice Lock · HouseofTech Innovation Pvt Ltd
Last updated: 6 October 2026
HouseofTech Innovation Pvt Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”, or the “Company”) operates the Voice Lock Android application (package com.houseoftech.voicelock) and related services (the “App”).
Voice Lock is a voice-phrase lock screen for Android. You record 3–4 short phrases in your own voice, and the App shows its lock screen whenever your screen turns off. To get past it, you say the phrase the lock screen asks for, in your voice, or enter a backup PIN. Voice Lock is a convenience lock, not a security lock — see our Terms of Use.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how to have it deleted. By installing or using Voice Lock you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Your Voice Stays on Your Phone
Your voice recordings and your voiceprint are processed and stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers or to anyone else.
- Voice recordings. When you set up your phrases or unlock the phone, the App records a few seconds of audio. That audio is analysed on the device and then discarded; raw recordings are not kept.
- Voiceprint. From your setup recordings, the App computes a numeric voice profile (a speaker embedding and phrase features) that it compares future attempts against. This profile is stored in the App’s private storage on your device only.
- Backup PIN. Your PIN is stored on the device only, as a salted one-way hash (PBKDF2). We never see it and cannot recover it.
- Uninstalling the App, or clearing its data from Android settings, permanently removes the voice profile and PIN from your device.
2. Device Permissions We Use
- Microphone — used only while you are setting up phrases or after you tap the mic button on the lock screen or the “Try it” screen. The App does not listen in the background.
- Display over other apps — lets the lock screen stay on top of other apps and come back to the front if something tries to cover it.
- Notifications — Android requires an ongoing notification while Voice Lock is running in the background.
- Run at startup / in the background — so Voice Lock can start again after the phone restarts and lock the screen each time it turns off.
You can revoke any permission from Android settings at any time; Voice Lock will stop working fully without them.
3. Information We Collect
A. Information you provide
- Mobile number — used to sign you in with a one-time password (OTP) sent by SMS, and to identify your account and subscription.
- Name — asked after your first payment, and printed on the GST tax invoice issued for each payment.
- Messages you send to our support team.
B. Subscription and payment information
- Payments are processed by our RBI-licensed payment gateway partner, Razorpay, through a UPI AutoPay mandate or other supported method.
- We receive the payment status, amount, date and payment/subscription reference IDs. We do not receive or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or bank login.
- We keep a record of each payment and the GST invoice issued for it.
C. Technical information
- Basic device and app information (device model, Android version, app version) and server logs (IP address, request times) when the App talks to our servers for sign-in, subscription status and invoices.
- Crash and error information needed to keep the App working.
- Advertising ID — the Android app includes the Meta (Facebook) SDK, which reads your device’s advertising ID and logs app installs, app opens and in-app events so we can measure which of our advertisements brought users to Voice Lock. It is used for attribution and analytics only. The App does not show you any ads. You can reset or opt out of the advertising ID from your Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
D. What we do not collect
- We do not upload or store your voice recordings or voiceprint (see Section 1).
- We do not access your contacts, SMS, call logs, photos, files or location.
- The App shows no ads. Your voice recordings, voiceprint and PIN are never shared with Meta or any advertiser.
4. How We Use Your Information
- Sign you in securely and keep your session.
- Check whether your subscription is active, and process payments and renewals.
- Issue a numbered GST tax invoice for every payment, with your name and mobile number on it, and show your payment history in the App.
- Send service messages such as OTPs and important account or billing notices.
- Prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with tax, accounting and other legal obligations.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who act for us: cloud hosting (Google Cloud, India region), SMS/OTP delivery, and the Razorpay payment gateway — only as needed to provide the service.
- With Meta Platforms (Facebook / Instagram), to measure the performance of our advertising: the advertising ID and app events described in Section 3.C, and, when you start a subscription, that event together with a one-way hashed (SHA-256) form of your phone number and the subscription value. No voice recordings, voiceprint or PIN are ever shared with Meta.
- Government or legal authorities, where the law requires it.
- A successor entity in a merger, acquisition or restructuring, with notice to you.
6. Data Storage, Security & Retention
- Account data (mobile number, name, subscription status) is stored on Google Cloud in India and protected in transit with HTTPS/TLS and at rest with access controls.
- Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted on request (Section 8).
- Payment and GST invoice records are kept for the period Indian tax and accounting law requires (typically up to 8 years), even after account deletion.
- No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable precautions.
7. Your Rights
Under applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent. Write to support@houseoftech.ai. Your voice profile and PIN never leave your phone, so you control them directly: clear the App’s data or uninstall it to remove them.
8. Delete Your Account & Data
You can ask us to delete your Voice Lock account and associated data at any time. There is no delete button inside the App; deletion is done on request so we can verify it is really you.
How to request deletion:
- Email support@houseoftech.ai with the subject “Voice Lock Account Deletion Request”.
- Include the mobile number registered on your account. Optionally tell us why.
- We may send a one-time verification (for example, an OTP to the registered number) so nobody else can delete your account.
Deletion request page: https://houseoftech-legal.web.app/voicelock/privacy#delete-account
What happens next: deletion is completed within 30 days of a verified request and confirmed by email. Any active AutoPay mandate is cancelled at the same time, so no further charges occur.
What gets deleted: your account (mobile number, name), login sessions and OTP records, subscription status, and support correspondence.
What is retained: payment and GST invoice records (payment reference, amount, date, invoice number, and the name and number printed on the invoice) for the period required by Indian tax law, and anonymised aggregate statistics that cannot identify you.
On your phone: your voice profile and backup PIN were never on our servers. To remove them, uninstall Voice Lock or clear its data in Android Settings › Apps › Voice Lock › Storage.
9. Children’s Privacy
Voice Lock is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be shown in the App or on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
