These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the PocketPDF application, website, software, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”), operated by HouseofTech Innovation Pvt Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”, or the “Company”).

By accessing, downloading, registering, or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. About the Platform

PocketPDF is a pocket PDF toolkit. It lets you import, read, and organise PDF documents into folders with bookmarks; merge, split, reorder, rotate and remove pages; compress files; convert photos and camera scans into PDFs; add stamps, watermarks and page numbers; annotate documents, fill forms, and sign; and export or share the result.

From app version 1.1.0, PocketPDF is free: every tool is available to everyone at no charge, and the free version is supported by ads (see section 9A). PocketPDF Pro is an optional paid subscription whose only benefit is that it removes ads; it does not unlock any additional tools. Details are in section 9 and in our Payment & Cancellation Policy. We may offer AI features in future, subject to separate limits.

2. A Tool, Not Professional Advice or Certification

• We do not verify the authenticity, ownership, contents, or legal effect of any document you import, edit, sign, or share.
• Requirements for a valid electronic signature differ by country, document type, and counterparty (for example under the Indian Information Technology Act 2000, the EU eIDAS Regulation, or the US ESIGN Act). Confirm with your own advisor that a signature applied in the App meets the rules that apply to you.
• PocketPDF is not legal, financial, medical, tax, or other professional advice, and is not a substitute for a qualified professional.
• Features, tools, and limits may be updated, replaced, or removed at any time, and may vary by region, device, plan, build, and server load. Some features depend on your device’s capabilities and may not be available on every device or platform.

3. AI Features — Accuracy Disclaimer

AI features are not currently offered in PocketPDF. If we offer them in future, the following applies in addition to any terms shown in the App at that time:

• AI features may be subject to separate fair-use limits, which may be adjusted to keep the service available to all users.
• We are not liable for any action taken, or not taken, on the basis of AI output.

4. Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the App, and at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to purchase a subscription, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.
• By using the Platform you confirm you have the legal capacity — and, where you act for a business or employer, the authority — to accept these Terms.

5. Account Registration

• You can use every tool without signing up. To keep your subscription and settings attached to you, the App may create an anonymous account tied to a random identifier on your device.
• Where offered, you may sign in using your mobile number and a one-time password (OTP) sent to it. There is no separate password.
• You are responsible for keeping your mobile number and device secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you lose control of the number or device linked to your account.
• You agree to provide accurate and complete information, and to use a mobile number you are entitled to use.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts with false, misleading, or shared credentials.

6. Your Content

• Documents you import, and the annotations, signatures, stamps, form entries, bookmarks and folders you create (“Your Content”) remain yours. We claim no ownership over them.
• Your Content is stored and processed on your device. The PDF tools run on your device and do not upload your documents to us.
• If a future feature you choose to use requires sending Your Content to us, you grant us a limited licence to process and transmit it solely to provide that feature to you. We do not use Your Content for advertising, we never share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to train AI models.
• You confirm that you own Your Content or otherwise have the right to import, edit, sign, store, and share it, including where it contains another person’s personal data or third-party intellectual property.
• You are responsible for keeping your own copies of documents you cannot afford to lose. Documents held on your device cannot be recovered by us if the device is lost, reset, or the App is uninstalled.

7. Our Content & Your Licence to Use the App

• All software, design, layout, branding, text, icons, and graphics forming part of the App (the “Content”) are owned by or licensed to HouseofTech Innovation Pvt Ltd and are protected by intellectual-property laws.
• We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own personal or internal business purposes, while your account and (where applicable) subscription are active.
• Documents you produce are yours to use, including commercially. You may not resell, redistribute, or sublicense the App itself or your subscription, or build a competing product from it.
• The App includes open-source components, which remain governed by their own licences.

8. Acceptable Use & Restrictions

You agree not to:

• Use the App to forge, falsify, backdate, or tamper with documents, to impersonate any person or organisation, or to apply another person’s signature without their authority.
• Import, edit, or distribute documents you have no right to handle, or use the App to infringe copyright or other third-party rights.
• Use the App to remove or circumvent password protection, encryption, digital rights management, or other technical protection on a document you do not own or are not authorised to unlock.
• Upload or process personal data of individuals where you have no lawful basis to do so.
• Use any AI feature to generate unlawful, deceptive, or harmful content, or to attempt to extract data belonging to other users.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the App or your subscription, or provide access to third parties via automation or scraping.
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code or proprietary systems.
• Circumvent usage limits, quotas, paywalls, or entitlement checks, or share a subscription across multiple people.
• Attempt to access another user’s account or documents.
• Upload malware, or files designed to disrupt, overload, or exploit the Platform or its infrastructure.
• Use the Platform for any unlawful, abusive, or harmful purpose.

9. Subscription, Pricing & Payments

• All tools are free. PocketPDF Pro is an optional subscription that removes ads, offered as monthly and yearly plans (with introductory offers from time to time).
• In the Android app, PocketPDF Pro is sold only through Google Play Billing, and your purchase is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. The price is shown in the App and on Google Play in your local currency, is set per country, and may change with advance notice in accordance with Google Play’s rules. Applicable taxes are included or added as shown by Google Play.
• Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
• If you reinstall the App or change device, use Restore purchases in the App while signed in to the same Google account to re-activate your subscription.
• Legacy subscriptions. Subscriptions bought earlier directly in the App or on our website (pocketpdf-web.web.app) through RBI-licensed payment gateways (such as Razorpay, PhonePe, or similar providers) — for example a ₹5 one-day trial followed by ₹299/month — continue on their existing terms until cancelled.
• We do not store your full card or banking details on our servers.

9A. Advertising

• The free version of PocketPDF displays ads served by third-party ad networks, currently Google AdMob. PocketPDF Pro subscribers do not see ads. How advertising data is handled is explained in our Privacy Policy.
• Ads are provided by third-party advertisers. We do not endorse, and are not responsible for, the products, services, content, or claims of advertisers, or for any dealings you have with them.
• You agree not to click, view, or interact with ads fraudulently or artificially — including through automation, repeated or incentivised clicks, or encouraging others to do so — and not to block, alter, or interfere with ad delivery in a way designed to defraud advertisers. We may suspend access for invalid ad activity.

10. Usage Limits & Fair Use

• PocketPDF is intended for normal individual or internal business use. We may set, adjust, or enforce reasonable fair-use limits to keep the service reliable and to prevent abuse.
• Automated, bulk, or commercial-scale processing beyond normal individual use may be throttled or suspended.

11. Refund & Cancellation

• You may cancel at any time before the next billing period. Cancellation stops future charges; you stay ad-free until the current period ends. Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.
• Google Play subscriptions: cancel in the Google Play Store app → profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → PocketPDF → Cancel subscription, or email support@houseoftech.ai for help. There is no cancel button inside the App. Refunds are governed by Google Play’s refund policy and are requested through Google Play; we may, at our discretion, also help through support.
• Legacy subscriptions (bought via Razorpay, PhonePe, or similar): cancel the AutoPay mandate in your UPI or bank app, or email support@houseoftech.ai. Completed payments are non-refundable except as described in our policy or where required by applicable consumer law.
• Nothing here limits any statutory withdrawal/cooling-off rights in your country. For details, see the Payment & Cancellation Policy.

12. Disclaimer

• The Platform is provided on an “as is” basis and is not guaranteed to produce documents that are accurate, complete, or legally sufficient for any particular purpose or jurisdiction.
• PDF processing can alter layout, fonts, embedded objects, form fields, or file size. Always check the output before relying on or sending it. Keep the original until you have verified the result.
• Compression, flattening, and page operations may be irreversible in the produced file. We are not liable for loss of quality, formatting, or content in files you generate or overwrite.
• We do not guarantee that a document, signature, or stamp created with the App will be accepted by any court, authority, bank, employer, or counterparty.

13. Service Availability & Data

• We aim for continuous availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, updates, or outages at our infrastructure or service providers may temporarily affect the service.
• Your documents are stored on your device. We do not provide a cloud archive of your documents, so you should keep your own copies of critical documents.

14. Third-Party Services

• The Platform integrates third-party services such as Google Play (app distribution and subscription billing), Google AdMob (advertising in the free version), Google Cloud (application hosting), SMS/OTP delivery providers, payment gateways for legacy subscriptions (Razorpay, PhonePe), and analytics tools.
• These services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their independent functionality or policies.

15. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms, our usage rules, or applicable law, including by generating invalid ad activity.
• You use the App to forge, falsify, or unlawfully unlock documents.
• Payments fail, are disputed, or charged back.
• You misuse the App in ways that harm other users or the Platform.
• Required by court order or government authority.

Documents stored locally on your device are unaffected by account termination.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or always-accurate service.
• We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill, or data — including loss or corruption of documents, rejection of a signed document, or any decision made on the basis of AI output.
• Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
• Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, or limits any non-waivable statutory consumer rights in your country of residence.
• Third-party AI services & user content. The AI features of PocketPDF are powered by models from third-party AI providers that we access through their APIs; we do not build, train, or control those models, and inputs and outputs are processed automatically without real-time human review. Each user is solely responsible for what they upload, type, or ask in the App — including photos, prompts, and chat messages. HouseofTech Innovation Pvt Ltd is not responsible or liable for any obscene, sexually explicit, adult, nude, violent, hateful, defamatory, sensitive, or otherwise objectionable or unlawful content that a user uploads, or that is generated in the App in response to a user’s photos, prompts, chats, or other inputs. Such use breaches these Terms; we may remove the content, suspend or terminate the account without refund, and report it to the authorities where required by law.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HouseofTech Innovation Pvt Ltd, its officers, employees, and partners from any claims arising from:

• Your use or misuse of the Platform
• Documents you import, edit, sign, store, or share, and their contents
• Your handling of any third party’s personal data or intellectual property
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your infringement of any third-party right

18. Privacy Policy

Your use of PocketPDF is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how your data and documents are handled.

19. Modifications to Terms

• We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the App.
• Continued use of the Platform after updates means you accept the revised Terms.

20. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

• These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you habitually reside.
• Subject to such mandatory rules, disputes shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Gurgaon, Haryana, India.
