Fable · HouseofTech Innovation Pvt Ltd
Last updated: 10 July 2026
HouseofTech Innovation Pvt Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”, or the “Company”) operates the Fable mobile application and related services (the “App”).
Fable is a short-video story app for children: it delivers bite-sized, kid-friendly story videos (“fables”) organised into playlists, collections, and themes that children can watch and enjoy. Fable is designed to be set up and managed by a parent or legal guardian, and used by children under their supervision. Certain features are available only to paid subscribers.
Fable is a children’s app operated through a parent or guardian account. The account and any subscription must be created and controlled by a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly allow children to create their own accounts, make purchases, or provide personal information directly, and we do not use children’s activity to build advertising profiles or serve targeted behavioural advertising.
We are committed to protecting children’s privacy and handling all data responsibly, in line with laws such as the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU/UK GDPR (including provisions for children), and India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect information when you use Fable, wherever in the world you use it.
By downloading, installing, or using Fable, the parent/guardian agrees to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Viewing Data & How It Is Used
The data we collect about what is watched inside the App is used to run the App, save viewing progress, and recommend suitable stories. It is not sold, and is not used to build advertising profiles of children.
- When stories are watched, saved, or marked as favourites, we record this activity so we can continue playback where it was left off, sync across the family’s devices, and suggest similar age-appropriate stories.
- Viewing history, saved items, and favourite collections are stored against the account and remain until they are deleted or the account is deleted.
- Recommendations are based on in-app viewing activity within the App only — they are used to order the story feed, not to build advertising profiles that we sell.
- A parent or guardian can clear watch history, remove saved items, or request deletion of all data at any time — see the Delete Account page.
2. Information We Collect
A. Information the Parent/Guardian Provides Directly
- Account details at sign-up — the parent/guardian’s email address and/or sign-in identity from Google or Apple (name, email, profile picture as shared by that provider).
- An optional child profile the parent may create — typically a display name or nickname and an age or age-band used only to filter age-appropriate content. We ask parents not to enter a child’s full name or other identifying details.
- Content preferences such as favourite themes or selected collections.
- Subscription and billing-related details when purchasing a premium plan.
- Feedback, support queries, or communications sent to us.
B. Automatically Collected Information
- Device information: device type, operating system, app version, IP address, unique device identifiers, language and region settings.
- Usage data: stories watched, watch time, completion, saves, favourites, and in-app navigation.
- Performance data: crash reports, diagnostics, and error logs.
- Approximate location derived from IP address, used for regional pricing, language defaults, content availability, and legal compliance.
- Analytics data collected via child-appropriate, non-behavioural analytics tools to keep the App working reliably.
C. Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not knowingly collect a child’s full name, address, phone number, precise location, or any government ID or biometric identifier.
- We do not access your contact list, call logs, SMS, microphone, or camera.
- We do not scan your photo library or personal files.
- We do not use children’s data for targeted or behavioural advertising, and we do not sell children’s data.
- We do not store your full card details — payment information is handled directly by our payment processors (Google Play, Apple, and licensed processors such as Razorpay).
3. How We Use Your Information
- Create and authenticate the parent/guardian account and maintain secure login sessions.
- Deliver the story videos, save viewing progress, and sync favourites across the family’s devices.
- Recommend age-appropriate stories based on in-app viewing activity.
- Process subscription payments and manage billing.
- Send service messages such as receipts, renewal reminders, and important account notices to the parent/guardian.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorised access, and enforce our usage rules.
- Improve content quality and App performance, fix bugs, and develop new features (using aggregated or de-identified data wherever possible).
4. Parental Controls & Consent
- The App is intended to be operated by a parent or legal guardian who consents to this Policy on behalf of any child using the App.
- Where required by law, we obtain and rely on verifiable parental consent before any collection of a child’s information, and we collect only the minimum needed to run the service.
- A parent/guardian can, at any time, review the information associated with the account, refuse further collection or use, and request deletion — see the Delete Account page or contact us at the email below.
5. Recommendations
- We use in-app viewing activity to order the story feed and suggest similar age-appropriate stories.
- Recommendations may be powered by our own systems and/or third-party infrastructure providers acting as our processors under data-protection agreements; they process this data solely to provide the recommendation service and not for advertising.
- A parent/guardian can clear watch history at any time to reset recommendations.
6. Subscription & Payment Information
- Depending on your platform and region, payments are processed by Google Play Billing (Android), Apple In-App Purchase / Apple Pay (iOS), or Razorpay and similar licensed payment processors (web and supported regions), supporting credit/debit cards and local payment methods.
- Each payment processor handles and stores card and payment details under its own security and privacy policies. We never see or store your full card number.
- We retain only your subscription status, plan, and transaction reference for billing, accounting, and tax compliance.
7. Information Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell or rent personal data, and we never sell children’s data. We share limited data only:
- With service providers (cloud hosting and storage, content-delivery networks, non-behavioural analytics infrastructure, payment processors such as Razorpay, Google, and Apple, email delivery) under data-protection agreements, and only to the extent needed to provide the service.
- To comply with legal obligations, court orders, or lawful government requests.
- In case of mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring (with notice to users).
- To protect rights, safety, and platform security.
8. International Data Transfers
- Fable is offered worldwide. Your data may be processed on cloud infrastructure located in countries other than your own, including India, the United States, and the European Union.
- Where required (for example for users in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms for cross-border transfers.
9. Data Storage & Security
- All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS); stored account and viewing data is protected with access controls and industry-standard safeguards.
- Content is delivered over secure cloud infrastructure and content-delivery networks.
- While we take strong precautions, no system is completely secure.
10. Data Retention
- Account and viewing data (progress, history, saves) is retained while the account is active.
- Transaction records are retained for the duration required by applicable tax and accounting law (typically up to 7 years).
- Analytics data may be retained in anonymised form for up to 24 months.
- A parent/guardian may request account and data deletion at any time — see the Delete Account page.
11. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you (and, for a child, the parent/guardian on the child’s behalf) may have rights under laws such as COPPA, the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, and similar laws, including the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold
- Correct or update the information
- Request deletion of the data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing)
- Opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA, and never children’s data)
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below. We respond within the timelines required by applicable law and never discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
12. Children’s Privacy
- Fable is a children’s app, but accounts and subscriptions may only be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or over.
- We collect the minimum information needed to run the service, do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, and do not use children’s data for behavioural advertising.
- If you believe a child has provided us personal information without parental consent, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
13. Third-Party Services
- The App may use third-party tools including Google Play Billing, Apple In-App Purchase, Razorpay (payments), Google/Apple sign-in (for the parent/guardian account), cloud storage and content-delivery providers, and child-appropriate analytics services.
- These services operate under their own privacy policies.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
- We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
- Significant changes will be communicated through the App.
- Continued use of Fable means acceptance of the updated policy.
