Arogya AI · HouseofTech Innovation Pvt Ltd
Last updated: 7 September 2026
HouseofTech Innovation Pvt Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”, or the “Company”) operates the Arogya AI application and related services (the “App”).
Arogya AI is an AI-powered personal health and wellness coach. It helps you set fitness, nutrition, sleep, weight, and general wellbeing goals; builds daily plans and reminders around them; lets you log meals, water, activity, sleep, weight, mood and other habits; and lets you chat with an AI coach that answers questions and adjusts your plan based on what you log. Certain features are available only on a paid Arogya AI Plus plan.
Arogya AI is not a doctor and does not provide medical care. The App offers general wellness guidance generated by software. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified medical professional. In an emergency, contact local emergency services immediately (in India: 112 or 108 for an ambulance).
Your health data is sensitive, and we treat it that way. Information about your body, diet, activity, sleep, and health conditions is used only to run the App for you — to build your plan, power the AI coach, and show your own progress. We never sell it, never use it for advertising, never share it with insurers or employers, and never use it to train AI models. You can delete all of it at any time (see section 10).
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your information when you use Arogya AI, wherever in the world you use it.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide Directly
- Account details — your mobile number, which you enter to receive a one-time password (OTP), and the OTP itself. We do not use passwords; sign-in is by OTP verification. You may optionally add a display name and profile photo.
- Onboarding and profile information — age or date of birth, sex/gender, height, weight, target weight, activity level, dietary preferences (for example vegetarian, vegan, Jain, diabetic-friendly), allergies and food restrictions, sleep schedule, and your goals.
- Health information you choose to share — existing medical conditions, medications, pregnancy or breastfeeding status, injuries, or other details you enter so the coach can adapt its suggestions. Providing this is optional; the App works without it, though guidance will be less tailored.
- Daily logs — meals and portions, water intake, workouts and steps, sleep, weight and body measurements, mood, energy, symptoms, and habit check-ins.
- Photos — meal photos you take or upload for food recognition and calorie estimation, and any progress photos you choose to save. Photos are used only for the feature you used them in.
- Conversations with the AI coach — the messages you type or speak, together with the coach’s replies.
- Subscription and billing-related details if you purchase Arogya AI Plus.
- Feedback, support queries, or communications you send to us.
B. Information From Connected Health Platforms (optional)
- If you choose to connect Health Connect (Android), Google Fit, Apple Health, or a wearable/fitness app, we read only the data types you approve — typically steps, distance, active minutes, workouts, heart rate, sleep sessions, and weight — and may write back data you log in Arogya AI (such as weight or a meal’s nutrition) if you allow it.
- We use this data solely to provide and improve the features you asked for: showing your activity and sleep, adjusting your plan, and informing the AI coach. We do not use Health Connect or health-platform data for advertising, market research, or any purpose unrelated to the App, do not sell it, and do not share it with third parties except as needed to provide the service (for example our cloud host) or where you direct us to.
- Our use of data obtained through Health Connect complies with the Health Connect permissions policy, including its limited-use requirements. Our use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- You can disconnect any platform at any time from the App’s settings or from the platform’s own permission settings. Disconnecting stops further reads; previously synced data stays in your account until you delete it.
C. Automatically Collected Information
- Device information: device type, operating system, app version and build number, IP address, unique device identifiers, language and region settings, time zone.
- Usage data: features used, screens visited, reminders acted on, and in-app navigation (recorded as events, not as the contents of your logs or chats).
- Performance data: crash reports, diagnostics, and error logs.
- Approximate location derived from IP address, used for regional pricing and currency and for legal compliance. We do not collect precise GPS location unless you enable a feature that needs it (such as outdoor run tracking), and only while that feature is in use.
- Analytics data collected via third-party tools to improve the App. Analytics events never include your health logs, chat contents, or photos.
D. Permissions the App May Request
- Camera / photo library — only when you choose to photograph or upload a meal or progress photo. We receive only the images you select or capture.
- Physical activity / motion — to count steps and detect workouts from your phone’s sensors, if you enable it.
- Health Connect / Apple Health — to read and write the health data types you approve, as described in section 1B.
- Notifications — for meal, water, workout, sleep, and check-in reminders you set. You can turn any reminder off.
- Microphone — only while you use voice input to talk to the coach or log a meal by voice.
- Location — only if you enable a feature that needs it (for example route tracking), and only while it is in use.
You can revoke any permission from your device settings. Some features will not work without the related permission.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create your account and sign you in via OTP.
- To build and update your personalised nutrition, activity, sleep, and habit plan.
- To estimate calories, macronutrients, and nutrition from meals you log or photograph.
- To power the AI coach — your profile, goals, recent logs, and conversation history are sent to the AI model so its replies are relevant to you.
- To show your progress, trends, streaks, and insights.
- To send reminders and check-ins you have set up.
- To process subscriptions, deliver receipts, and manage billing.
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- To monitor performance, fix bugs, prevent abuse, and improve the App.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
We do not use your health data, logs, photos, or conversations to train or fine-tune AI models, to build advertising profiles, or to make decisions about you for insurance, credit, employment, or eligibility of any kind.
3. How the AI Coach Uses Your Data
- When you send a message or the App generates a plan, the relevant parts of your profile and recent logs are combined with your message and sent to a large-language-model provider to generate a response.
- Data sent to AI providers is transmitted securely and is used by them only to generate the response; under our agreements it is not used to train their models.
- AI responses are generated automatically and are not reviewed by a human. See our Terms & Conditions for the accuracy and medical disclaimers that apply.
- Your conversation history is stored in your account so the coach can maintain context. You can delete individual conversations or all of them from the App.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR / UK GDPR / DPDP)
- Consent — for health data (a special category of personal data under GDPR Article 9 and sensitive data under India’s DPDP Act), for connecting health platforms, for camera/microphone/activity permissions, and for marketing messages. You give this consent explicitly during onboarding or when enabling the feature, and can withdraw it at any time.
- Performance of a contract — to provide the App and any subscription you buy.
- Legitimate interests — security, fraud prevention, analytics, and service improvement, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation — tax, accounting, and regulatory compliance.
5. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract — cloud hosting and storage (Google Cloud, Mumbai region by default), SMS/OTP delivery, AI model providers (for coach responses and food recognition), payment gateways (Razorpay, PhonePe or similar — who receive only what is needed to process payment, never your health data), crash reporting and analytics.
- Health platforms you connect — data you choose to write back to Health Connect, Google Fit, or Apple Health is then governed by that platform’s policies.
- People you choose — if you use an export or share feature to send a report to a doctor, dietitian, trainer, or family member, that copy is under their control.
- Legal requirements — where required by law, court order, or a lawful request by a public authority, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users, the public, or the Company.
- Business transfers — in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this Policy continuing to apply.
We never share your health data with advertisers, data brokers, insurers, or employers.
6. International Data Transfers
- Your data is primarily stored in India. Some service providers (for example AI model providers) may process data in other countries, including the United States and the EU.
- Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and provider commitments on security and non-use of data for training.
7. Data Security
- Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest on our cloud infrastructure.
- Access to production data is restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis and is logged.
- Sign-in uses OTP verification and a session token stored securely on your device. Keep your mobile number and device secure; anyone with access to both may be able to sign in to your account.
- While we take strong precautions, no system is completely secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
8. Data Retention
- Profile, goals, logs, photos, and coach conversations are retained while your account is active, so your history and trends remain available to you.
- Health-platform data synced into your account is retained on the same basis and is deleted with your account.
- If your account is inactive for 24 months we may delete it after notifying you at your registered contact.
- Transaction records for Arogya AI Plus are retained for the duration required by applicable tax and accounting law (typically up to 7 years).
- Analytics and diagnostic data may be retained in anonymised form for up to 24 months.
- You may delete individual logs, photos, or conversations at any time inside the App, or request full account deletion — see the Delete Account page.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, and similar laws, including the right to:
- Access a copy of your personal data, including your health logs (an in-app export is available)
- Correct or update your information
- Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing) — including consent to process health data, which will limit what the App can do
- Opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA)
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below. We respond within the timelines required by applicable law and never discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
10. Deleting Your Data
You are in control of your health data. From the App you can delete individual meals, workouts, photos, or conversations; disconnect any health platform; or delete your entire account with all associated data. Full instructions are on the Delete Account page.
11. Children’s Privacy
- Arogya AI is intended for adults aged 18 and above. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
- Nutrition and fitness guidance for minors requires professional supervision that the App cannot provide. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Nature of the Service
- Arogya AI provides general wellness and lifestyle guidance. It is not a medical device, not a licensed healthcare provider, and not a clinical service. It does not diagnose, treat, or manage any medical condition.
- Calorie, nutrition, and activity figures are estimates. AI responses may be inaccurate. Always consult a qualified doctor, dietitian, or other professional before making significant changes to your diet, exercise, medication, or lifestyle, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, under 18, over 65, or have any medical condition.
13. Third-Party Services
- The App may use third-party tools including Google Cloud (application hosting, database and object storage), SMS/OTP delivery providers, large-language-model and image-recognition providers for the AI coach and food logging, Health Connect / Google Fit / Apple Health (only if you connect them), Razorpay and PhonePe (payments, where applicable), and crash-reporting and analytics services.
- These services operate under their own privacy policies.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
- We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
- Significant changes — especially any change in how health data is used — will be communicated through the App and, where required, will ask for your renewed consent.
- Continued use of Arogya AI means acceptance of the updated policy.
