HouseofTech Innovation Pvt Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”, or the “Company”) operates the Saarthi mobile application and website (collectively the “Platform”).

Saarthi is a UPSC preparation platform with an AI mentor that helps aspirants plan their study schedule, revise the syllabus, track current affairs, attempt practice questions and mock tests, get answer-writing feedback, and resolve subject doubts. Certain content and features are available only to paid subscribers.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your information when you use Saarthi.

By downloading, installing, registering, or using Saarthi, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide Directly

• Mobile phone number and/or email address (used for OTP-based login).
• Optional profile information such as name, attempt year, optional subject, preferred medium (English / Hindi), state, target service, and notification preferences.
• Subscription and billing-related details when purchasing a premium plan.
• Your interactions with the AI mentor — questions you ask, answers you submit for evaluation, essays, notes, bookmarks, and study-plan inputs.
• Mock-test responses, quiz attempts, performance history, and self-assessment data.
• Feedback, support queries, or communications you send to us.

B. Automatically Collected Information

• Device information: device type, operating system, app version, IP address, unique device identifiers.
• Usage data: topics studied, time spent in each module, content consumed, features used.
• Performance data: crash reports, diagnostics, and error logs.
• Approximate location, if you grant the App permission, used only to surface state-specific current affairs and regional exam information.
• Analytics data collected via third-party tools to improve the Platform.

C. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not access your contact list, SMS, call logs, or microphone unless you explicitly opt in to a voice feature.
• We do not access your camera or photo library except when you choose to upload an image (for example, a handwritten answer for AI evaluation).
• We do not collect government IDs or any sensitive personal data.
• We do not store your full card or UPI details — payment information is handled directly by our payment gateway partner.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Authenticate your account via OTP and maintain secure login sessions.
• Provide the AI mentor experience, personalised study plans, doubt resolution, answer-writing feedback, mock-test scoring, and performance analytics.
• Personalise content suggestions based on your target exam, optional subject, medium, and progress history.
• Process subscription payments and manage billing.
• Send service messages such as OTP, payment receipts, study reminders, current-affairs digests, and important account notices.
• Improve the quality of AI responses, study material, and mock-test calibration. Where we use your queries or submissions to fine-tune or evaluate our AI systems, we do so on a de-identified basis wherever feasible.
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, cheating in mock tests, or unauthorised access.
• Improve Platform performance, fix bugs, and develop new features.

3. Subscription & Payment Information

• Payments are handled by RBI-licensed payment gateway partners (such as Razorpay, PhonePe, or similar providers) using UPI, cards, netbanking, and UPI Autopay. The active payment gateway may change from time to time without prior notice.
• The payment gateway partner processes and stores card and UPI mandate details under its own security and privacy policies.
• We retain only your subscription status, plan, and transaction reference for billing and tax compliance.

4. Information Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share limited data only:

• With service providers (cloud hosting, content delivery networks, payment gateway partners such as Razorpay or PhonePe, OTP delivery via voicensms.in, AI model providers, analytics) under data-protection agreements.
• To comply with legal obligations, court orders, or lawful government requests.
• In case of mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring (with notice to users).
• To protect rights, safety, and platform security.

5. AI Processing

• Saarthi uses third-party large-language-model providers to generate explanations, evaluate answers, and power the mentor experience. Your prompts and submissions may be transmitted to these providers solely to generate the response you requested.
• We do not authorise these providers to retain your data for their own model training beyond what is required to deliver the service.
• AI-generated answers are best-effort study aids and are not guaranteed to be free of errors — please verify critical facts against authoritative sources.

6. Data Storage & Security

• We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls.
• Data is stored on cloud infrastructure (including outside India) with appropriate safeguards.
• While we take strong precautions, no system is completely secure.

7. Data Retention

• Account data is retained while your account is active.
• Your study history, attempts, bookmarks, and mentor conversations are retained so the Platform can resume and personalise your preparation, and are deleted on request.
• Transaction records are retained for the duration required by Indian tax and accounting law (typically up to 7 years).
• Analytics data may be retained in anonymised form for up to 24 months.
• You may request account and data deletion at any time — see the Delete Account page.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Under applicable laws (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you may have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct or update your information
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent
• File a complaint with authorities

9. Children’s Privacy

• Saarthi is intended for users aged 13 and above.
• Users under 18 should use the Platform with parental or guardian guidance.

• The Platform may use third-party tools including Razorpay (payments), voicensms.in (OTP), AI model providers (for the mentor and evaluation features), cloud storage and content-delivery providers, and analytics services.
• These services operate under their own privacy policies.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

• We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
• Significant changes will be communicated through the App or website.
• Continued use of Saarthi means acceptance of the updated policy.
