HouseofTech Innovation Pvt Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”, or the “Company”) operates the Fluenly mobile application (the “App”).
Fluenly is a spoken-English learning app that helps users build English fluency through short lessons, conversation practice, pronunciation drills, vocabulary builders, grammar guides, and speaking exercises. Certain content and features are available only to paid subscribers.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your information when you use Fluenly.
By downloading, installing, or using Fluenly, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide Directly
- Mobile phone number (used for OTP-based login).
- Optional profile information such as name, age group, native language, current English level, and learning goals.
- Subscription and billing-related details when purchasing a premium plan.
- Feedback, support queries, or communications you send to us.
- Lesson progress, quiz responses, speaking-exercise attempts, and learning activity within the App.
- Voice recordings of your spoken-English practice attempts, if you use the speaking-practice or pronunciation features — processed to give you feedback and improve our speech models, and deletable on request.
B. Automatically Collected Information
- Device information: device type, operating system, app version, IP address, unique device identifiers.
- Usage data: lessons viewed, exercises completed, quizzes attempted, time spent in the App.
- Performance data: crash reports, diagnostics, and error logs.
- Approximate location, if you grant the App permission, used only to suggest regional and language defaults.
- Analytics data collected via third-party tools to improve the App.
C. Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not access your contact list, SMS, call logs, or camera.
- We do not access your microphone except while you are actively using the speaking-practice or pronunciation features, and only to capture your voice attempt for that exercise.
- We do not collect government IDs, exam scorecards, or any sensitive personal data.
- We do not store your full card or UPI details — payment information is handled directly by our payment gateway partner.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Authenticate your account via OTP and maintain secure login sessions.
- Personalise learning content based on your level, goals, and progress.
- Analyse voice recordings of your speaking attempts to give you pronunciation and fluency feedback, and to improve our speech-recognition models.
- Process subscription payments and manage billing.
- Send service messages such as OTP, payment receipts, lesson reminders, and important account notices.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorised access.
- Improve App performance, fix bugs, and develop new features and lessons.
3. Subscription & Payment Information
- Payments are handled by RBI-licensed payment gateway partners (such as Razorpay, PhonePe, or similar providers) using UPI, cards, netbanking, and UPI Autopay. The active payment gateway may change from time to time without prior notice.
- The payment gateway partner processes and stores card and UPI mandate details under its own security and privacy policies.
- We retain only your subscription status, plan, and transaction reference for billing and tax compliance.
4. Information Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share limited data only:
- With service providers (cloud hosting, payment gateway partners such as Razorpay or PhonePe, OTP delivery via voicensms.in, speech-recognition / AI providers strictly for processing your speaking-practice audio, analytics) under data-protection agreements.
- To comply with legal obligations, court orders, or lawful government requests.
- In case of mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring (with notice to users).
- To protect rights, safety, and platform security.
5. Data Storage & Security
- We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls.
- Data is stored on cloud infrastructure (including outside India) with appropriate safeguards.
- While we take strong precautions, no system is completely secure.
6. Data Retention
- Account data is retained while your account is active.
- Voice recordings from speaking practice are retained only as long as needed to give you feedback and improve our models, and are deleted on request.
- Transaction records are retained for the duration required by Indian tax and accounting law (typically up to 7 years).
- Analytics data may be retained in anonymised form for up to 24 months.

7. Your Privacy Rights
Under applicable laws (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you may have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct or update your information
- Request deletion of your data

8. Children’s Privacy
- Fluenly is intended for users aged 13 and above.
- Users under 18 should use the App with parental or guardian guidance.
- We do not knowingly collect data from children below 13.
9. Third-Party Services
- The App may use third-party tools including Razorpay (payments), voicensms.in (OTP), cloud storage providers, speech-recognition / AI providers (to power pronunciation and fluency feedback), and analytics services.
- These services operate under their own privacy policies.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
- We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
- Significant changes will be communicated through the App.
- Continued use of Fluenly means acceptance of the updated policy.
