HouseofTech Innovation Pvt Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”, or the “Company”) operates the Dharmik mobile application and related services (the “App”).
Dharmik is a devotional app that offers religious content such as ringtones, notification tones, wallpapers, images, mantras, aartis, bhajans, and related devotional material that you can browse, download, and set on your device. Certain content and features are available only to paid subscribers or via in-app purchases.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your information when you use Dharmik, wherever in the world you use it.
By downloading, installing, or using Dharmik, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Device Permissions We Use
To let you set ringtones and wallpapers, the App may ask for certain device permissions. These are used only to deliver the feature you requested — not to read your personal files or track you.
- Storage / media access — used to download devotional ringtones, tones, and wallpapers and save them to your device so you can use them offline. We only write the files you choose to download; we do not scan or upload your existing photos or files.
- Set as ringtone / modify system sound settings — when you tap “Set as ringtone” or “Set as notification tone”, the App uses the system setting needed to apply that sound. It is used only at your request.
- Set wallpaper — when you tap “Set as wallpaper”, the App applies the selected image as your home/lock-screen wallpaper.
- You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time from your device settings; some features will not work without them.
2. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide Directly
- Account details if you choose to sign up — email address and/or sign-in identity from Google or Apple (name, email, profile picture as shared by that provider).
- Your content preferences, such as favourite deities, festivals, languages, or collections you follow or save.
- Subscription and billing-related details when purchasing a premium plan or content.
- Feedback, support queries, or communications you send to us.
B. Automatically Collected Information
- Device information: device type, operating system, app version, IP address, unique device identifiers, language and region settings.
- Usage data: content viewed, downloaded, set as ringtone/wallpaper, saved, or favourited, and in-app navigation.
- Performance data: crash reports, diagnostics, and error logs.
- Approximate location derived from IP address, used for regional pricing, language defaults, festival/calendar relevance, content availability, and legal compliance.
- Analytics data collected via third-party tools to improve the App.
C. Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not access your contact list, call logs, SMS, microphone, or camera.
- We do not scan your photo library or read your existing personal files — storage access is used only to save the content you download.
- We do not collect government IDs or biometric identifiers.
- We do not store your full card details — payment information is handled directly by our payment processors (Google Play, Apple, and licensed processors such as Razorpay).
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and personalise the devotional content library (ringtones, wallpapers, images, mantras, and more).
- Let you download content and set ringtones, tones, and wallpapers on your device.
- Save your favourites and preferences and sync them across devices if you sign in.
- Process subscription payments, in-app purchases, and manage billing.
- Send service messages such as receipts, renewal reminders, and important account notices, and (where enabled) festival or content updates.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorised access, and enforce our usage rules.
- Improve content quality and App performance, fix bugs, and develop new features (using aggregated or de-identified data wherever possible).
4. Personalisation & Recommendations
- We use your in-app activity and stated preferences (deities, festivals, languages) to organise the library and recommend relevant devotional content.
- Recommendations may be powered by our own systems and/or third-party infrastructure providers acting as our processors under data-protection agreements; they process this data solely to provide the recommendation service.
- You can change your preferences or clear your activity at any time from within the App.
5. Subscription & Payment Information
- Depending on your platform and region, payments are processed by Google Play Billing (Android), Apple In-App Purchase / Apple Pay (iOS), or Razorpay and similar licensed payment processors (web and supported regions), supporting credit/debit cards and local payment methods.
- Each payment processor handles and stores your card and payment details under its own security and privacy policies. We never see or store your full card number.
- We retain only your subscription status, plan, and transaction reference for billing, accounting, and tax compliance.
6. Information Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share limited data only:
- With service providers (cloud hosting and storage, content-delivery networks, recommendation/analytics infrastructure, payment processors such as Razorpay, Google, and Apple, email delivery) under data-protection agreements, and only to the extent needed to provide the service.
- To comply with legal obligations, court orders, or lawful government requests.
- In case of mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring (with notice to users).
- To protect rights, safety, and platform security.
7. International Data Transfers
- Dharmik is offered worldwide. Your data may be processed on cloud infrastructure located in countries other than your own, including India, the United States, and the European Union.
- Where required (for example for users in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms for cross-border transfers.
8. Data Storage & Security
- All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS); stored account and preference data is protected with access controls and industry-standard safeguards.
- Content is delivered over secure cloud infrastructure and content-delivery networks.
- While we take strong precautions, no system is completely secure.
9. Data Retention
- Account and preference data (favourites, followed collections) is retained while your account is active.
- Downloaded ringtones and wallpapers are stored on your own device and are under your control; deleting the App or the files removes them from your device.
- Transaction records are retained for the duration required by applicable tax and accounting law (typically up to 7 years).
- Analytics data may be retained in anonymised form for up to 24 months.

10. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, and similar laws, including the right to:
- Access a copy of your personal data
- Correct or update your information
- Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing)
- Opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA)
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority

11. Children’s Privacy
- Dharmik is intended for users aged 13 and above (or the higher minimum age required in your country, e.g. 16 in parts of the EEA), and purchases require you to be 18 or the age of majority where you live.
- We do not knowingly collect data from children below these ages. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Devotional Content & Respect
- Content is provided for personal devotional and cultural use. Dharmik is an independent app and is not officially affiliated with, or endorsed by, any temple, religious organisation, or authority unless expressly stated.
- We aim to present content respectfully. If you believe any content is inaccurate, disrespectful, or infringes rights, contact us and we will review it promptly.
13. Third-Party Services
- The App may use third-party tools including Google Play Billing, Apple In-App Purchase, Razorpay (payments), Google/Apple sign-in, cloud storage and content-delivery providers, and analytics services.
- These services operate under their own privacy policies.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
- We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
- Significant changes will be communicated through the App.
- Continued use of Dharmik means acceptance of the updated policy.
